NOISE

I did a quick subjective run and in a 38dbA environment the noise level increased to about 40.5 using 12V, so a 2-3dbA max rise in noise level.

Using the following chart for perceived noise level differences:

Perceptions of Increases in Decibel Level
Imperceptible Change 1dB
 Barely Perceptible Change 3dB
Clearly Noticeable Change 5dB
About Twice as Loud 10dB
About Four Times as Loud 20dB

Per the table, a 3 dBA change is considered “Barely Perceptible”.  Personally I am fairly sensitive to noise  and subjectively would agree up to about 10V, but 11-12V did notice some noise. Subjectively I would say a D5 is quieter, but I have yet to do a direct side by side comparison.  What I have seen is the D5 reading up to about 38-39dbA where this pump got up to about 40-41 so maybe a couple of dbA higher at full speed.

Start up voltage is about 4V however it seems a bit rough and louder than 5V.  At 5V it is nearly dead silent and one of those where you have to see the flow or put your ear on it to hear it.   Because the max wattage of the pump is also less than 6W, many motherboards should also be capable of running the pump and adjust voltage to reduce noise so that is an added benefit.  Bay reservoirs also tend to amplify noise through case transfer, so connecting the pump to a fan controller or to your motherboard (If it supports the 6W load) is probably worth your time so you can dial in the noise level to match your fan speeds and tolerance.

I will probably add another side by side comparison video of sorts after finishing the 750 model hydraulics testing.

Thank you very much Martin! Your efforts are greatly appreciated, as always.

Thanks for the review Martin. As of today its not selling yet to resellers but I’m sure it will be soon. I’d like to see them get the housing black, aesthetics matter in our business.

This really puts the H100 pump in perspective.

      Thanks Gary,
housing could be painted easy enough with the pump removable, but it would be nice to have it come in black as the factory color.

I hope to round up an H100 pump to verify specs too there is not much for detail out there but planning to do some AIO kit testing in the near future and will break them down and test the pumps then. This H100 estimate is based on the specs I could find.

Tried to get one of these…

    >>Sorry it’s not possible at the moment. We are not happy with the noise level of the pump and we decided not to release it.
